Welcome to the Engine RPM Calculator. This site was developed by a group of mechanical engineers and car restoration enthusiasts who realized that mechanical ratios are often misunderstood. We wanted to build a simple, clean, and highly precise visual tool to help drivers, mechanics, and machinists analyze how gearing, tire sizes, and speeds connect in the real world.

Methodology & Standards
Our calculator processes physical gearing and rotational speed calculations based on established standards in mechanical physics:
- Rotational Velocity: Calculations convert linear velocity into rotational velocity using the outer rolling radius/diameter of the tire.
- Drivetrain Mechanics: Ratios multiply across transmission gearing, axle ring and pinion sets, and low/high range transfer cases to determine the final drive reduction.
- Mathematical Precision: Calculations utilize the standard physical conversion coefficient of 336.135 to account for circumference and velocity units.
